War is not a reason to cancel the best traditions of the Educational and Scientific Institute of High Technologies of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
This year, for four years in a row, a competition for the best diploma theses was held!
Respected attestation commissions not only evaluated the works of our graduates, but also chose the best among them.
The selection criteria were:
- – CREATIVE APPROACH to tasks, originality of thinking;
- – the interdisciplinary nature of the work – yes, yes, all the same INTERDISCIPLINARY;
- – SKILL and PROFESSIONALISM in the design of the work and its presentation at the defense.
We have already announced the winners among the masters, and now it is the turn of our bachelors.
All winners will receive certificates – a good “” to the CV, as well as valuable gifts from our sponsor, the charity fund “Enamin”.
Here is the list of winning works:
Graduation qualification thesis of a bachelor, a student of the specialty 102 Chemistry (EL “Chemistry (high technologies)”) of Olga Oleksandrivna Vashchenko
“COMPLETE RELATIONSHIP OF NMR SPECTRAL LINES OF AMIDE DERIVATIVES OF INTERNALLY CHIRAL CALIXARENES – PROSPECTIVE PROBES FOR THE STUDY OF MOLECULAR RECOGNITION”
(Scientific supervisor from the Department of Supramolecular Chemistry, Associate Professor of the Department, Doctor of Science Svitlana Valeriivna Hryn. The work was performed in the Department of Physical and Chemical Research of the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under the supervision of Doctor of Science S. Yu. Suikov).
Chiral calixarenes – macrocyclic compounds – can recognize other chiral compounds, forming supramolecular complexes with them.
And how can scientists “recognize” calixarenes themselves, how to prove their structure?
This is where nuclear magnetic resonance can help, and Olya’s work is just about that!
Graduation thesis of a bachelor, a student of the specialty 102 chemistry (OP “Chemistry (high technologies)”) of Mosi Oleksandr Olegovich
“CHIRAL CHROMATOGRAPHIC PHASES WITH APPLIED FUNCTIONALIZED AMYLOSE”
(Scientific supervisor from the Department of Supramolecular Chemistry, Associate Professor of the Department, Doctor of Science Svitlana Valeriivna Hryn. The work was performed on the basis of LLC “NVP UKRORGSYNTEZ” under the supervision of Doctor of Science, Associate Professor S.O. Alekseeva).
The chemistry of sugars is very complex.
Even remembering the structure of several natural sugars is not easy.
It is not for nothing that one humorous song composed by chemistry students contains the following lines: “Fructose, mannose, gulose, rhamnose – you will all drive me to psychosis…”.
However, Oleksandr was not afraid of difficulties, and in his work he found the use of a compound of this class – amylose.
Final qualification thesis of a bachelor, a student of the specialty 091 Biology (EL “Biology (high technologies)”) Naumenko Maria Vitalyivna
“VARIABILITY AND DIAGNOSTIC VALUE OF THE FUR MARKING OF THE EUROPEAN FOREST CAT IN THE CONTEXT OF ANTHROPOGENIC HYBRIDIZATION AND GEOGRAPHIC VARIABILITY”
(Scientific leader – associate professor of the Department of Molecular Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Candidate of Sciences, Daria Samofalova. The work was carried out in the Department of Wild Animal Genetics of the Senkenberg Scientific Research Institute under the leadership of the head of the department, Karsten Novak).
For those who did not know, we inform you: the cat is an interdisciplinary object of research at the Institute of High Technologies 🙂 You can view Maria’s serious and very interesting work here.
Here is one of her conclusions: diagnostic morphometric characteristics of the European Forest Cat confirmed: 1) type of tabby pattern;
2) type of dorsal stripe;
3) tail shape (only in winter);
4) marks on the shoulders;
5) short spots on the heels;
6) tassels on the ears;
7) Nering’s spot.
Bachelor’s graduation thesis, student of specialty 105 Applied physics and nanomaterials (EL “Nanophysics and computer technologies”) Bohdana Mykhailivna Peleshok
“PROPERTIES OF CARBON NANOPARTICLES FOR BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS”
(Scientific supervisor – head of the Department of Nanophysics of Condensed Environments Prof. Valery Antonovych Skryshevskyi).
How to measure the size of nanoparticles?
This is a very difficult task, even in the presence of such modern devices as Zetasizer, which are at the disposal of ESIHT scientists.
How Bohdana did it with carbon nanoparticles, see her work, where the results of these and other researches of hers are given.
Graduation thesis of a bachelor, a student of the educational program “Physics (high technologies)” specialty 104 “Physics and astronomy” Tesla Roman Ruslanovych
“CURRENT-DRIVEN QUANTUM DYNAMICS OF CHIRALITY IN A FIXED DOMAIN WALL IN A FERROMAGNETIC NANOWIRE”
(Scientific supervisor – Oleksiy Kostyantynovych, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, S.Sc.).
The paper shows that the pinning potential significantly affects the structure of low-energy wall states, in particular the considered pinning on two impurities, and it is shown that depending on the parameters of the two-well potential, the lowest wall states form a system of either two or four close energy levels.
Further, it is shown that with the help of an alternating current it is possible to “prepare” various superpositions of these lowest states, practically without exciting states with higher energy, that is, the wall behaves as a pseudospin (or qubit).
The work belongs to the tasks of the so-called spintronics, which studies the possibilities of using the spin current of electrons to create various devices, such as energy carriers, memory devices, and transistors.
Particularly interesting are low-dimensional systems (2D, 1D), in which quantum effects play a significant role.
