Scientific work at the department is carried out in directions that are relevant and require a combination of knowledge and skills in various fields of natural sciences. In particular, this is the study of supramolecular associates and structures by modern physical methods; development of technologies for obtaining chemical substances for the purpose of finding new medicines; photonics of organic molecules; obtaining modified peptides and studying their behavior in models of biological objects, searching for new multifunctional materials, computer calculations of biological activity.
Scientific achievements of teachers and employees of the department are published in the most prestigious journals and periodicals that have a high citation rating. Students take an active part in modern scientific research and are full-fledged authors of scientific publications. The department maintains close scientific ties with institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, foreign universities and research centers in Great Britain and Germany.
