Laboratory of chemical and biological methods of materials research

Research methods that are most often used in research: bioinformatics, physicochemical, biochemical, biotechnological, computer modeling.

Among the main achievements of the laboratory, it is worth noting:
For the first time, molecular models of spontaneous and mutagen-induced nucleotide base transitions were developed, which are based on new physicochemical mechanisms of tautomerization by proton transfer of displaced DNA base pairs and adequately explain molecular biological experiments, as well as the mechanisms of spontaneous transitions.

Software was created that allows for virtual screening using the AutoDockTools program package, using the resources of the Ukrainian National Grid, and using it for the first time, the distribution of charges in the active center of MtTyrRS was shown and its conformational mobility was analyzed.

Mechanisms of influence of nanoparticles on excitatory systems have been established. The biological inertness of silicon derivatives is shown. A new enzyme immobilization method was developed and optimized in the creation of amperometric biosensors based on immobilized glucose oxidase on zeolite nanoparticles as a bioselective element of the biosensor, and a platinum disc electrode as an amperometric converter of biochemical signals into electrical signals.

In the laboratory, students of the Ukrainian Physics and Mathematics Lyceum of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv participate in scientific work for two years. So, for example, Andriy Pavlygin is a future applicant of the Institute of High Technologies of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and plans to continue his research as a student of IHT.
